In an ecosystem known as a wetland, water from precipitation, snowmelt, and rain is replenished. The basis of the wetland, which is made up of sedimentary rocks, silt, or clay, as well as flora, are its two primary parts (i.e. aquatic plants). Wetlands are places with a lot of biodiversity that support life. Wetlands can be returned to their natural state despite the impact of human-caused pollution and urbanization on their biodiversity. Climate change is one of the six main environmental concerns facing the world today. Within the next century, it is expected that average global temperatures will rise by up to 4°C. This will result in a loss of flora, a change in the temperature, and repercussions on the planet's biodiversity.

Wetlands are geographical regions where aquatic or semi-aquatic organisms can be found. The preservation of the environment is the main advantage of wetland management. The wetland is closely connected to both the local communities and the surrounding natural environment. Wetland management, often known as "resilience," has consequently emerged as a crucial component of biodiversity and food security. The study of establishing and sustaining habitats for animals, plants, and beneficial insects is known as wetland management. The health of our forests, wetlands, aquatic ecosystems, and prairies depends on effective wetlands management.

For instance, there wouldn't be any grasses, sedges, rushes, or other plants that are essential to the majority of our ecosystems without native and naturalized wetland species. Wetlands are essential for both providing habitat for animals and plants and for oxygenating our atmosphere through biota exchange.

Within Nepal's Parsa National Park is the distinctive and significant wetland habitat known as Halkhoria. However, a number of issues are threatening its ecological integrity and biodiversity. Water is used by birds and other waterfowl (such as ducks, geese, swans, and many other migratory birds) for a variety of purposes, including body temperature regulation, nutrition absorption, and drinking. For these birds to drink, the water must be sufficiently fresh. But other water sources, such marshes and ponds, might have higher concentrations of salts, minerals, and other pollutants, which would have an impact on the health of the birds living there.

In comparison to the neighboring open water areas, they could also experience cooler temperatures. One of the most fundamental needs of every living thing on earth is water. It is an essential medium for all living things, and it supports all of life. However, diverse and various sorts of organisms, such as birds and other aquatic animals, are consuming a variety of types of water, which is one reason why it is becoming much harder for these species to thrive.

Bibhushan Dahal, Susan Subedi, and Adhish Dulal discovered during a midwinter bird count that the wetlands of Parsa had their water drained for irrigation, leaving no standing water in the wetland region. Prior to this team's visit for the bird census, the area had plenty of water and was home to a variety of bird species. However, neither the water nor the birds were there because it had been drained through a limited area for various purposes. Wetland should be conserved, and the Parsa National Park Authority should take decisive steps to maintain and conserve it.
